The Sealed Room is a 1909 short film, directed by DW Griffith. It tells the story of a king and his love. His concubine ultimatley has an affair with a musician, and eventually the king finds out. The king finds them together, in a small room covered by a curtain. While they are distracted inside, the King builds a wall into the doorway, locking them in forever. The Sealed Room is a story of betrayal, and makes use of both time-lapse and eyeline match. The film reminded me of Poe’s Cask of Amontillado.
