The Tramp

The Tramp is a 1915 comedy short starring Charlie Chaplin. Chaplin is a tramp, who has interest in a farmers daughter. Hobos first attack him and steal his food, then proceed to attack the farmer’s daughter. In response Charlie knocks him out with a brick, and tosses two others that come into a lake. Charlie and the farmers daughter go to the farm, where Charlie tries to help farm, but fails. The hobos return and Charlie drives them away again. This time, the girls fiance returns, and a disappointed Charlie Chaplin returns to the road. This film had a lot of slapstick-type humor. I didn’t find it as enjoyable as some other film’s we watched, but it was interesting.
